Summary
Jim Stevenson has focused in the areas of workers’ compensation
defense and employment law defense since joining Wiedner & McAuliffe
in 1987. Jim represents employers before the Illinois Industrial
Commission and on appeal before the Illinois Court of Appeals, Workers
Compensation Division. In June 1992, Jim was admitted and qualified
as an Attorney and Counselor of the United States Supreme Court.
He also frequently writes and speaks on workers’ compensation
and employment law topics for the Illinois State Bar Association.

| Jim currently serves as co-editor
of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA)’s Workers’
Compensation Newsletter. He is the author of several
treatises prepared for ISBA’s LAW ED professional education
programs, including:
- “Medicare Liens, Set Asides
and Set Aside Trusts” ISBA LAW ED Series for
Advanced Workers’ Compensation, 2003 academic year.
- “Respondent’s Perspective
on Vocational Rehabilitation” ISBA LAW ED Series,
2001 academic year.
Jim has also been a lecturer at professional
education seminars and meetings conducted by the ISBA and
the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians.

Community Involvement
Jim plays an active role in his village's government. He was elected
to a two-year term as Village Trustee in 1999 and has chaired the
Village Economic Development Committee. Following his re-election
to a four-year term in 2001, he was named Chair of the Public Safety
Committee, which oversees the operations of the Village Police and
Fire Departments.
