Mr. Bauman studied history at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität
in Munich, Germany, and then worked for Amnesty International in
Sydney, Australia, on behalf of asylum seekers. He earned a J.D.
from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in
2003. While attending Hastings, Mr. Bauman served as a judicial
extern to U.S. District Judge Susan Y. Illston (N.D. Cal.).
Before joining Wiedner & McAuliffe, Mr. Bauman
served a two-year clerkship with U.S. Department of Labor's Office
of Administrative Law Judges. In this position, Mr. Bauman worked
on employment discrimination claims under the Surface Transportation
Assistance Act, AIR 21, and Sarbanes-Oxley. He also worked on workers'
compensation actions under the Longshore and Haborworkers' Compensation
Act and wage-and-hour claims under the McNamara-O'Hara Services
Contract Act. Mr. Bauman is a member of the Midwestern Charpter
of the Australian New Zealand American Chamber of Commerce (ANZACC).
Mr. Bauman is a member of the American Bar Association,
the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.
He is a member of the Illinois Bar, the State Bar of Michigan and
is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern
District of Illinois.
